Looks like you chaps had a fine day out, Anders, especially in such glorious countryside!
I know what you mean about the “park in a field” shows – fortunately, in the majority of cases, attending most of those […] -
Tony Wawryk commented on the post, Iconic Angles – a Classic's Most Important Contribution 8 years, 1 month ago
I agree that timelessness is one of the key contributors to what makes a classic, and of course time therefore needs to pass to prove it. Some designs have “instant classic” status conferred on them, which I think […]

Tony Wawryk commented on the post, Drag Racing: The Bizarrest form of entertainment? 8 years, 1 month ago
I’ve been to only one drag race meeting, in the early 1990’s, at Santa Pod Raceway. I went out of curiosity and to be honest, quite enjoyed it, though not enough to go again.
The sound and fury and sheer […] -

“Just try not to let it bankrupt you.”
And therein lies the rub with cars like these. A huge amount of car and style for the money, but to maintain it in that style (to which it should be accustomed) can cause […]

There’s a 1900CSS for sale on Car and Classic, Anders; yours for only EUR 339,000…
One of the many things I like about shows like this is that you have the time to see, and take in, pretty much everything, more […] -
Tony Wawryk commented on the post, Corvette Rondine? Sadly Not in the Model Line-Up 8 years, 1 month ago
Fabulous looking car – better than any Corvette that you could actually buy. And how great to see that styling link in the Fiat 124 Spider – evidence that a great idea is never totally wasted.

Classics on the Crick is a show that I’ve been attending for the past three years – it’s very local to me, taking place on the picturesque village green in Naphill, in the Chilterns, and each year the turnout of […]

Jewer, you know, I looked at that, but the styling from the C-post rearwards just seems, well, awkward, to my eyes, anyway. For sure it meets all the requirements of a super-saloon, I just wish it looked more coherent.

@claus-ebberfeld Congratulations on your new acquisition, which is most definitely a super-saloon! I hope you enjoy many trouble-free kilometers with it!

Looks like a huge and eclectic show indeed, with cars from the everyday (or what was the everyday) to the exotic. I can’t say I share the love for the Toyota Crown or the 120Y, but I do love the stories behind […]

The Classic Motor Hub (or CMH as I will call it) in Bibury, Gloucestershire, may already be known to the esteemed ViaRETRO readers, but this was my first visit to one of their monthly Coffee and Classics […]

Tony Wawryk commented on the post, What are the best alternatives to the 911? 8 years, 2 months ago
There are indeed alternatives to a 911, just that few, if any, are as good, imo. I’ve had an E9 and loved it ( how I wish I’d kept it), but it’s not a sports car in the way a 911 is. However, if you’re going to […]

The weather gods smiled on us last Sunday for a day at Brands Hatch to watch the second day of the MSV Masters Historic Festival. The forecast rain and storms waited until we were already back home and on a second […]

@steenmp , @o2anders – add me to those who start scouring the internet for classics after every one of these reports, or after visiting a show myself; it’s a compulsion, but fortunately one that rarely comes to […]

I remember the story of this prototype, which is one of the great “What if’s” of the British car industry and BL in particular. It’s still a great looking car and as you point out, Claus, one of the most […]

@02anders – rather 911 than any of those ;)
But to be serious for a moment – for me, this is an ugly car, and I include the Zagato bodied V8 version as well. There’s just no elegance or grace compared to the […] -
