Tony Wawryk commented on the post, The Luxury Trap: Going Expensive on the Cheap 7 years, 6 months ago
This is an interesting question, and as @Claus Ebberfeld says, is relevant to a considerable number of what are nowadays called Youngtimers. It’s possible to buy a late 1990’s Porsche Boxster for less than […]

Earlier LAST year, of course (still haven’t got completely used to the fact we are 2019…)

@steenmp it’s a great looking car, love the colour, too! That photo was from the Copenhagen Citadel event earlier this year; as you will no doubt recall, you were parked next to our own @anders-bilidt and his Green Devil!

@niels-v what a terrific line-up! I especially like the Renault, helped by it being yellow, of course :-)!
Do you have a favourite, or is that like asking which is your favourite child?@jan-viborg super […]

@niels-v tell/show us what you have, would love to see them!

@niels-v interesting article, not seen it before. I think generally people point to the Neue Klasse as the car that saved BMW, but it seems fairly clear that without the success of the 700, there wouldn’t have […]

Part of the recent discussion about the Opel Manta A here on ViaRETRO touched on the issue of the small engines available in the car. Besides the 1.9, Opel offered a 1.6 and even a 1.2 – the latter resulting in […]

@claus-ebberfeld you may well have a point, possibly two… ;-)

Camping schlamping – the prospect of lugging a caravan or trailer around from site to site, holding up traffic en route, has never appealed; give me a decent hotel any day of the week! That brochure is hilarious though…

@paul-hill I’m very hurt! ;-)
Love Bicester Heritage and their Scrambles; I’d have been at this one had I not been in Germany. I have one concern – and this applies to Brooklands, too, and that is that these […] -

@anders-bilidt you are of course completely right in terms of the chronology, my mistake – I see the Fiat as less practical than either the Scimitar or Volvo, but there’s no denying they are all three-door […]

Just realised I forgot the Gordon Keeble – so many choices, so little cash….

Looks like you had a good NYD out, too, Dave! My picks from the photos would be the Taiga Green CSL, the Fintail, the black 190SL and I’m with Anders on the Montreal – if it could just be one car, that would […]

I really like the standard 130 Coupé, but am not quite sure about this – the tailgate is so acute that I’m not sure the styling works – I think it would have looked better with a longer roofline and squarer – […]

@mike-foley there was a smart blue Gilbern GT at Brooklands on NYD, maybe you saw it in the piece we ran on the event? Good luck with yours, perhaps we’ll see it at an event later this year!

@anders-bilidt perhaps my irony was too subtle – our friend @dave-leadbetter is most definitely not on the fence in the case of the Berlinette; au contraire, he’s made it very clear which side of it he’s on 😄. I […]

@gteglman thank you so much for your kind words! I happen to agree that the MGB Berlinette with the faired-in headlamps is the nicer of the two – no matter what that fence-sitter @dave-leadbetter says 😁 😉. […]

First, let me wish a very Happy New Year to all our readers!
New Year’s Day seems an unlikely day for an outdoor classic car meeting in the UK. Unreliable winter weather, late night on New Year’s Eve and pro […]
