Love these small elegant FIAT/OSCA coupes and convertibles – would always be worried about it here, though, so I’ll keep it at my Tuscan villa instead.

A great many shows have been cancelled this year thanks to the coronavirus epidemic, particularly indoor events. For this event, the organisers of the London Classic Car Show wracked their brains and came up with […]

We use the word “quirky” quite a lot here at ViaRETRO. We like cars that are a little bit different or unusual in some way, be that because of the styling, engineering or another aspect that makes a car stand out […]

Sounds like a really nice, relaxed event in a lovely setting! I like the idea of cars being organised by country. Lots to catch the eye – very cool to see the Opel Kapitan and Rekord and pair of Auto-Unions side-by-side.

Besides pulling in some of the world’s most glamorous and expensive cars for the Concours of Elegance, Hampton Court also attracts hundreds of cars from the more prestigious car clubs on the Saturday and Su […]

Always liked the FIntail series of Mercs, though diesels (cough) have never done it for me. With this one, though, while the exterior looks super, the choice of colour for the upholstery is somewhat less than – it […]

After a summer of very little – in fact, almost nothing – in the way of classic car events thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, the first signs of life began to appear recently as the London Concours actually took […]

A few weeks back I wrote in these virtual pages of my quest to replace my modern BMW 220i Coupé – a perfectly good, competent but ultimately fairly dull, uninvolving car, like so many moderns – with a class […]

Earlier this week I wrote about the London Concours, which included a category called “Lancia Legends”, featuring just some of the greatest cars made by Lancia and therefore, made by anyone. Unfortunately, anot […]

After a summer of cancellations of just about everything, the last few weeks have seen a gradual reawakening – albeit in a limited way – of many of the things we used to take for granted. I can play tennis aga […]

Tony Wawryk commented on the post, Prime Find of the Week: A Galaxie Not So Far, Far Away 5 years, 11 months ago
I had a feeling that @yrhmblst would shed more light on this Galaxie :). In the event, bidding only reached £8,250, a bid that was submitted as a provisional sale, but more than that I don’t know at this stage. […]

We don’t often feature American cars as our Prime Finds here at ViaRETRO, principally because we generally know less about them (certainly true in my case), and of course there are relatively fewer for sale in E […]

@claus, I’m not dismissing the CC, just prefer the AC and BC – on no other basis than their respective looks :)

What a terrific find! Another candidate for the IWG (Imaginary Wawryk Garage) – and I agree that the AC is the prettiest, though I’d hazard a guess (since I’ve not driven either) that the still-pretty BC is a […]

Tony Wawryk commented on the post, Visual Sunday: What Would the Modern Audi Driver Think? 5 years, 11 months ago
I think the other, more modern, forgotten Audi – and a definite future classic – is the A2. Yes it’s slightly odd-looking (but we like quirky, right?) and while not a sales success (only 176k sold between 1999 and […]

Something cheerful to read about over breakfast – hooray! It seems a few local pub meets have been happening over here, though not one near me. Not as many cars as this one though – and what a great variety of […]
