As per last week’s feature on the previous Sunday’s Scramble at Bicester Heritage’s ever-expanding former WW2 bomber site, there were so many delightful classics on show that it just wasn’t possible to include […]

A little over a year ago, we featured a FIAT 1500 Familiare as one of our Prime Finds. I haven’t seen another since, although there is currently one for sale in Switzerland. This week, however, we’ve found an alm […]

Interesting write-up, Dave – I haven’t so much as sat in, let alone driven, an Imp – sounds like I’m missing out!

With 2021 ending in almost Groundhog Day fashion as the UK and elsewhere experienced yet another wave of you-know-what, it began to look as if the classic car event calender would take another beating not […]

There are a number of Opel Manta fans on the ViaRETRO team, and among our readers, too. My personal preference is for the original Manta A, but the Manta B has many advocates, and our Prime Find this week is a […]

As in most years, there’s a number of classic anniversaries happening in 2022, including significant automotive landmarks such as 60 years since the launch of the Ford Cortina, Austin/Morris 1100/1300, MGB, T […]

Like Dave, I haven’t driven an 1800cc Magnum, but I have driven a few 1256cc Viva’s including one my sister ran many many years ago. I agree with Dave, it was a perfectly decent car, if somewhat underpowered.

The Triumph Stag (what a great name!) is one of the stalwarts of the UK classic car scene – along with the MGB and Triumph TR series, you can be sure there will be a herd of these handsome Michelotti-styled G […]

Looks like an excellent event, really wide variety of cars. Loving the Fintail and 356, and of course the ’02. The injected TR7 Sprint is interesting – I didn’t know such a beast existed until now – you learn […]

Perhaps not where you and I are from, Dave, but there are plenty of pubs in London and the South East that will take your fiver in exchange for a pint and not give you any change. As for the car – is this big […]

Ask most people to think of a “Magnum” and the odds are they’ll come up with either a chocolate-covered ice cream, (in the UK at least), Tom Selleck’s moustache and his Ferrari 308, or one of Clint Eastwoo […]

An update – it seems like 12 months ago all over again, as Brooklands has cancelled its NYD meeting in the face of record numbers of Covid infections, pushing it back to April 16th. Bicester Heritage’s January […]

While idly looking through old articles to check what we’ve covered as Prime Finds, I noticed I hadn’t updated the sale price of this very smart Cavalier, and it did indeed go for well over the estimate range, […]

The best-known Peugeot GTI is almost certainly the French company’s pocket rocket 205, in both 1.6 and 1.9-litre forms. However, those three performance letters were also applied by Peugeot to a number of other c […]

2021 started bleakly, as all events planned for the first half of the year were postponed or cancelled as the pandemic continued to affect pretty much everything we did – there was no New Year’s Day event at Bro […]

@dave and @yrhmblst, there is a large grain of truth in both your comments. I’m still not decided, but writing this piece has moved my thinking more towards selling than keeping the BMW, probably in the Spring or […]

As regular readers might remember, I am now the proud owner of not one, not two, but three beautiful German classics – a 1975 BMW 2002tiiLux in Golf Yellow, a red 1982 Mercedes-Benz 280CE and most recently, the c […]
