A few days ago, I completed one of the longest drives I’ve ever undertaken, but this time in my 43-year-old Golf Yellow BMW 2002tiiLux. In other words, not just transport from A to B, but a proper r […]

Hard to argue that there are some spectacularly unexceptional cars shown here, some of which I remember fondly, others, not so much…
However, I am going to be a bit picky, and suggest that there is no world in […] -

@claus-ebberfeld agree with you about the use of Stowe House and grounds for this event – fabulous contrast with the mundane machinery on display ;). Last year it was used as the starting point for the […]

Super report, as always, Dave!
I sit so firmly on the fence with regard to the Unexceptional that it’s quite uncomfortable at times. I remember all of these cars from my teens and early twenties, and the glow of […] -

What a car, and what provenance!
As an aside, it still irritates me that Surtees was never knighted, and of course it’s now too late. -

That looks pretty bloody good – and has worn well, to my eyes, at least – love the (dare I say) boomerang rear light treatment, and years before Maserati did something similar with the 3200 GT.

Have just spent an afternoon at the wondrous Cite de l’Automobile in Mulhouse, a temple to the glory of the French Motor Industry (and a few others, but mostly the French, and in particular, Bugatti) – there were […]

@yrhmblhst – omg…reading that list made me feel better (sorry!). Missing that 330 GTC sounds particularly painful…

I think we all share your frustration and anger about the incident, and especially the SUV driver, Anders, it’s a total bummer. More importantly, you emerged unscathed – your Green Devil is (albeit with difficulty […]

In my case, it’s regrets about both – first, the one I regret selling, which was the 3.0CSi I had from 1994 to 98, which I sold when i was offered a job in The Netherlands that came with a company car (I chose an […]

@yrhmblhst I stand corrected (again :) ) – I’ve always associated the rear “wings” with Impalas, and assumed this was one; however, I found this photo and blowing it up shows it to be a Biscayne, indeed!

I also like the 924 and Montecarlo a lot – the latter’s prices starting to rise, it seems.
Have we reached “peak E-Type”? I don’t go along with the whole “best-looking…etc” hype either, and there do seem to be […] -

Nail hit firmly on head, Claus. While numbers make all the difference in a game of Top Trumps, on the road it’s surely always been about how power is delivered and the manner in which a car does what it does. […]

That’s a fine-looking super-saloon you have there, Claus, enjoy your time with it – but with so many cars, how do you decide which one to drive and when?? Nice problem to have, though!
