@claus, perhaps you should bid for it? :-)

I’ve been a bit quiet reporting on the event front recently, due in large part to a dose of Covid – my second one – causing me to miss a couple of good events, particularly Classic Nostalgia at Shelsley Walsh […]

I’m just not a fan of brown, Claus, as you know – and there’s a lot of it in this otherwise very tasty 924 :).

We’ve written about the Porsche 924 a couple of times here at ViaRETRO – Claus Ebberfield speculated on whether it would have been more respected had it followed the mighty 928 rather than preceded it, and we fea […]

@harrym – what a great story!

The Ford Cortina was introduced in the UK in September 1962, and over time it became the UK’s best -selling car – usurping the ADO16 – and stayed that way for several years. It became the mainstay of many a corpo […]

After reverting to our old £20,000 budget limit for the past couple of weeks, it’s time to raise our sights again, and to one of the most exquisite cars to come out of Turin, or anywhere, for that ma […]

Niels, thanks for your comments, we can always rely on our readers to pick up any errors we make, and mine was to say the F102 had a four-stroke engine, which it did not, but while it’s true that DKW never sold a […]

This week’s Prime Find goes back to a time when fins on British cars were popular, and while not as extreme as on some models from across the pond, the transatlantic influence was obvious. Cars such as the S […]

You should have been reading my report from the Classic Nostalgia event at Shelsley Walsh with your cornflakes/croissant/coffee this morning – held over what was a glorious summer weekend and an event I have been […]

It seems the 1300GT has aged well and can be driven in modern traffic conditions without any problems. I like the look of it, and it would probably make a fine entry-level classic, though to my surprise there is […]

Hello again, Peter, I was going to wait 16 months to respond to your post (the gap between my reply to your previous post and your latest one) but I decided to get this out of the way.
With the greatest respect […] -
Tony Wawryk commented on the post, Prime Finds of the Week : Italian Glamour or German Elegance? 4 years ago
Well, somewhat surprisingly – to me at any rate – neither of these fine cars sold, despite their seemingly very reasonable estimates (though I have no idea what their reserves were, of course).
Update – the […]

Didn’t sell at the original auction but sold this morning for just £10,640 without reserve – way under the original estimate range. A bargain, in my opinion.

This week’s Prime Find is an example of the car said to mark the beginning of the modern Audi era, transforming a relatively minor German car company into what is today a hugely successful premium brand c […]

As in most years, 2022 sees a number of significant – and in some cases, not-so-significant – motoring anniversaries being celebrated. So far this year we’ve marked the Renault 5’s 50th birthday and the Ferrari […]

Tony Wawryk commented on the post, Prime Finds of the Week : FIAT 128 or Datsun 120Y ; Which Would You Choose? 4 years ago
@yrhmblhst, I’m inclined to agree, especially since the FIAT went for just £5,290 and the Datsun for a surprisingly high – to me, at least – £9,430. I had thought they’d be more closely matched in price.
