Dave Leadbetter commented on the post, Prime Find of the Week : Designer-clad French Luxury on a Budget 5 years, 2 months ago
And I thought I’d found some obscure Prime Finds in my time…
So, do we think it looks a bit frilly or has it just not been washed very well around it’s lower quarters? But I suppose it’s a case of find […]

Here in deepest Derbyshire there is much excitement and anticipation at the re-opening of visitor attractions. Those with an interest in transport can already choose from the National Tramway Museum and a number […]

Lot 110 – a 34,000 mile1985 Escort XR3i with a period bodykit and Hella grille. It did need a replacement dash top but it was”only” £11,093 which doesn’t seem outrageous.

Well, since writing the above I have actually sampled a TR7. More about that in the coming week. I bet you can’t wait…

Despite (or maybe because of) never having driven one, I’m attracted to the idea of a TR7. I prefer the FHC over the DHC but perhaps the answer is to have one of each, like a near neighbour does.
I’m willing […]

April and May is usually when the old car scene really gets going but we have a delayed start this year, at least as far as official events go. As such, I’ve not been doing much that would be worthy of ViaRETRO u […]

Dave Leadbetter commented on the post, Prime Find of the Week : An Exceptionally Unexceptional Viva 5 years, 3 months ago
Yes, very strong money for the Viva. And nearly seven grand for the MOT-less late model Frontera…!
As usual the pre-war cars seemed cheap for what they are, considering Vauxhall was a very well regarded […]

Sixty-one actual grand spent on recomissioning the XJ220? When it had only done 14k miles in the first place? Call me a tight northerner, but…
I’m quite surprised at the sale price of the black MkIII Capri […]

Not a bad looking thing. I was interested enough to check which other cars Vauxhall are disposing of and I quite fancy the Omega that’s listed in the same auction.
I doubt any of them will reach the heights […]

Dave Leadbetter commented on the post, Visual Sunday: Spring is (Finally) Here! 5 years, 4 months ago
Ah, spring time, the daffodils are out, the lambs are gambolling in the fields, a neglected battery struggles to crank a sleeping motor…
I’m hoping for a more productive classic year, having just moved to a […]

So, now that the dust has settled on the sale, I have to wonder if the new owner plans to use the car at all, or whether it will be locked away as an investment. Given the specifics of this case, I can see both […]

If I absolutely had to own a Ferrari… no, this is one Ferrari that I would actively seek out. I enjoyed watching the full video just to gawp further at the 308. Many years ago a friend of my father had a […]

That’s very strong money for a 244DL but I won’t argue that it’s a very fine example.
I do like the 200 series, and has there ever been a trendier looking safety research vehicle? No, there has not.

I’m just making sure your standards aren’t slipping now you’ve left the mainland and gone back to Europe.
I did enjoy seeing the big bronze Ford though, and it’s a timely inclusion given last week’s Prime Find […]

They say most accidents happen in the home, which means we must currently be living in one of the dangerous periods in human history. Being legally restricted from leaving the house puts everyone right in the […]

Bend-it Mend-it should be a key principle which is hard to argue against, but you can’t legislate for all the lost days whilst it’s being fixed.
Things get more murky with the issue of premature wear. Your […]

I’ve always feel the stumbling block would be maintenance. I wonder how many car share syndicates fall apart because one person keeps bringing it back filthy dirty with a few new mystery noises…
