Nice find! What a strange Citroen publicity video though, it’s five minutes before we get a glimpse of their car rather than all their competitors’ products. Interesting motor, and almost certainly the cheapest […]

I’m not a fan of turbos, if additional shove is required a supercharger seems a much better principle. The oldest turbocharged car I’ve driven would have been an early Subaru Impreza but despite all the years of […]

It’s like Tony comments above – Opel used to make some interesting cars. As the brand was never adopted for the mainstream models in the UK we didn’t see the more tedious Opels here, they wore Vauxhall badges […]

One of those cars that I’m glad exists but am also glad I don’t own because I think it may be a disappointment. Was this first electrical “active” rear spoiler on a production car?

Yes, the last GM car that really appeals to me is the Senator 24v but I do hold a nostalgic affection for their 70s and 80s range. I was very pleased to see a Mk1 Cavalier saloon at Bicester last time but my […]

Plastic surgery kept the Manta looking fresh and sexy. And that’s all we ask for, right?
Marketing sells cars. An average product will get a boost from clever marketing, but an excellent product may remain […]

Yes, but the 505 was a 1970s design before they chased the supermini market and went on a cost stripping exercise (ultimately to save the company). That 505 we found at Bicester last time was fabulous.

You’d need a 70s grand prix driver’s attitude to risk to drive any 80s Peugeot as a daily (and I say that having had a couple of 205s). Flimsy is not a sufficient word. It’s all relative but even so…
Saab […]

Good point Claus. Recently he’s been droning on about how he’s been forced to drive the same old car for 25 years. Well, it must be worn out by now so an LS swap would be the obvious thing.

A quick check indicates you’ve probably missed the boat on affordable Alfa 75s, and you wouldn’t want a “project” one of those…
A decent BMW E28 5 series is still within your budget in the UK and they’re […]

I have actually driven a UK spec Lexus IS200 and quite a decent thing, as in not spectacular, but fine. Not much point swopping a six pot E46 for one though as the Lexus is basically just a slower alternative that […]

I have a HoverTravel one because Hovercraft are supercool and an approved 1970s way of getting around.

That photo of the 2.8i Capri… that’s me distracted for the rest of the day.
I used to have 2.8i Capris as dailies, but they were only 15-ish years old then so much the same as your 330 is now. I’m […]

There have been a number of articles on ViaRETRO recently about obscure Japanese cars, and I’d bet there are not many people who could claim to simultaneously be an expert on the Hino Contessa, Subaru 360 or T […]

At ViaRetro we’re advocates of using our cars, and what better way to treat your relic than putting it in an environment it was probably never designed for and seeing what falls off? Yes, it’s time to go on a Tra […]
