Lovely car with so many brilliant ideas. Perfectly placed in the french market, between the mechanically conservative Peugeot 504 and the just bonkers Citroën DS. I think the roofline and tall windows even […]

Probably because of my studies in architecture, I really like those motorway stops built across the road, so you can access them from both directions. I think it is a great way to use the space already occupied by […]

Great writing as always, thank you.
I can see that it aims to have the same high flat sides as the old Defender, but it might as well be an updated IH Scout or Ford Bronco. But those two were also made from the […]

The idea of a safety sports car is always strange, no matter how many times you try. Another one, with a slightly better – but still odd – outcome, is the Bricklin SV1. Also with incredibly large blind angles for the driver.

With my 8 classic vehicles I do care a lot about heritage, and in which factory it was made and how. I can spend many hours with the internet researching.
But the boring commuter car to […] -

Renault probably had a lot of their development resources, at that time in the early sixties, tied up in creating the groundbreaking, innovative and beautiful Renault 16.
The 8/10 (except the Gordinis) has the […]

Renault 10 is typical 1960ies “Volkswagen thinking”: Making the the same car all over again, and calling it new, and somewhat ruining the carefully thought out proportions and design of the original model.
A […] -

Keep the hydraulic pipes and fittings in reasonable working order, just like you would with brake and clutch lines on a “normal” car. Of course keep an eye on the hydraulic pump and reservoir from time to time, […]
