That is a LOT of stylish car for the money and that history. I am not sure it is MY style, but it is a very charming car anyway. Absolutely love the colour combination.

I haven’t searched for sideburns on Ebay yet, Anders, but will see to that shortly, of course.

Thanks for the soundtrack, Dave – at the next fairs I’ll look for some suitable ABBA-cassettes as that really seems like a good choice for getting up and ready in an SLC.
Yes, there’s metal under the chrome […]

I’ve been dreaming of the big Mercedes coupé since I was a boy in the Seventies and they were almost new cars. Now I have finally bought one. It’s just not quite new anymore.
“Do as I say, not as I do”. […]

Never again!
And may I remind you of the fate of my first two Scimitar GTE’s, Anders – https://viaretro.co.uk/2015/11/only-fools-dont-fear-project-cars-five-years-four-owners-two-cars-zero-progress/

Claus Ebberfeld commented on the post, Single-Model Series do not Count Towards Motorsports History 8 years, 8 months ago
The Procar series must be the exception to the rule that Dave asked for. I agree that was very real racing, but then the format was very much designed to create exactly that: The idea of setting up the best […]

The famous Bentley victories at Le Mans in the Thirties were secured with Mintex brake linings and years later the company mastered the new disc technology as well, securing further wins with Jaguar. Now they’re […]

What variety! From rusty Taunus to gleaming Espada. E-type V12 on steelies. A Pagoda next to a Fulvia Zagtao Sport. Impressive. Including the amount of cars defying the salt: VERY impressive.
As was Anders’ […]

Well, maybe I was a bit categoric there, Dave.
In reality the matter is more like discussing whether a certain car is a classic car or not. Which I feel today (in a wisdom far beyond that of driving an early 5 […]

The Renault 5 GT Turbo is a great exception, Dave, I absolutely agree on that.
Not so much for your mentioned reasons, but mostly because I am the proud owner of one vintage 1986, making that model […]

Let’s just try to agree when one can say that a given car model has a motorsport history. Real motorsport history.
This article arose from a tough reader comment on our Danish site a while ago. I had written […]

The English title of the movie was “Traffic”, Thomas – look at this poster: https://goo.gl/images/scSnWt
It was called “Trafik” in Danish, by the way.

I’ve always had a weak spot for the Niva – even as I lived well inside the comfort of the city limits. But now on my fourth year in the countryside the Niva seems more and more relevant. Well sort of relevant, as […]

It’s got a funny rear end too! Opel GT lamps, aren’t they? But that Commodore GS/E sure is lovely. I bet it sat on decent tires too.
Brilliant report, Dave – I read it in the dry and really appreciate that you […]

My warmest recommendations, it’s a brilliant event and one of the very few chances to see Group B cars in full flight.
I’ll never […]

Well, where to start…ah, with driving, of course. Unlike you, Anders, I did not drive as much as I wanted to in 2017. In classic cars, that is! Which might be part of the problem, actually – counting the daily […]
