No a car does not have to be fast, rare, luxurious or exclusive to be become an icon. A 32 year production run, with more than 8 million made ought to make a car an icon. Surely more important to many people than the ultra exclusive italian sportscar ever was.

No, just look at the Model T or the vw.
They say confession is good for the soul, so may I bare my most inner secrets here? Ive long fancied one of these, preferably in van form, definitely with the ‘Giraffe Option”, even tho Ive never even seen one in the flesh. Exactly how crappy of a car are they in reality?

I believe they’re “better” than a Citroen 2CV at least. Where I used to live, a couple of communists had one, and they seemed to like it. Make of that what you will.
