Visual Sunday: French Art Deco at Its Most Extravagant

There’s no denying that the 1932 Bucciali TAV 8-32 Saoutchik ‘Flèche d’Or’ had presence! Its utterly flamboyant coachbuilt bodywork made sure of that. As if the exorbitant design wasn’t enough, the rather imposing dimensions of 5.8 meters in length and just short of 2 meters in width did the rest. A V12 engine from Avion Voisin and avantgarde front wheel drive technology certainly didn’t distract either. Has anything else from France ever exuded such glamour and splendour?
